Visual artist Cassandra Gordon-Harris was born in New Orleans, raised in South America and educated in Europe, where she graduated from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. Her work has always been a personal exploration of human emotions. Using the female figure as a vehicle, she attempts to capture a moment in time; not to paint portraits of women so much as to paint the concept of a woman's emotions, using movement and design to strengthen the feelings generated within. One thing she always tries to convey in her work, no matter if the feeling of the painting is light or dark, is a sense of hope and the innate strength of character needed to overcome life's obstacles.
