Elisabeth Kelly: a poem



A Leaving The swifts have left, for homes where seasons blend together; ink on wet paper. Crispness flushes the faltering grass, spreads over heather, hangs like mist. The earth is alive, ready to fold itself inwards and quietly resist.



Elisabeth Kelly is a mother, educator and poet. She lives on a hill farm in the Scottish Borders with too many animals. Her work has been or is due to be published by Dreich Magazine, Eyeflash Poetry, Fragmented Voices, Foxglove, Green Ink Poetry and Hedgehog Poetry Press. Her debut pamphlet is due to be published in 2021 by Hedgehog Poetry Press.
