Madeleine Bazil: a poem

A Misunderstanding

of a Coca Coca bottle:

sweet carbonated transubstantiation.

I hear cowbells on the hillside past La Cure

and my first thought

is that they must be church bells.

Madeleine Bazil is a multidisciplinary artist and writer interested in memory, intimacy and the ways we navigate worlds — real and imagined. Her poetry has been published or is forthcoming in Dreich Magazine, Meniscus Journal, West Trade Review, Oyster River Pages, Axe Factory Press and elsewhere.
